诞生在杭州的美国人司徒雷登，30年代在北京创办了燕京大学，这是当年燕大的正门（今为北大西校门），燕大为中国培养了许多杰出人才。
　　John Stuart,who was born in HangZhou,　established Yanjing University in Beijing in the 1930s.This is the front gate of Yanjing University in those days (the west gate of today's Beijing University).Yanjing University trained a lot of outstanding talents for China.
